The Moonbirds NFT collection, initiated by Kevin Rose — a figure celebrated for his roles in Digg and the Proof Collective — debuted on April 16, 2022. The project swiftly garnered 100,000 ETH in resales, establishing a strong presence in the NFT market.

In a gesture of generosity, Rose initially released 2,000 NFTs to PROOF members, followed by a public launch. A unique lottery system allocated 7,875 pieces to pre-selected participants, while 125 were set aside for upcoming projects and partnerships.
