The real estate landscape is welcoming the Metaverse with open arms because now you can buy a real mansion with a virtual counterpart in The Sandbox. ONE Sotheby’s International Realty is teaming up with Voxel Architects and NFT Collector Gabe Sierra to introduce the world to the first-ever MetaReal Mansion.

As The Sandbox Co-Founder Sebastien Borget puts it, “This is another leap into bridging physical and digital worlds into the Metaverse.”

The buyer of the NFT asset will also acquire ownership rights of the physical home. By Q4 2022, the mansion will be ready for occupancy in Miami. This project is the first of its kind, so the NFT community is in awe of this industry milestone.

The partners are building the NFT-backed mansion on a one-acre lot in one of the city’s most prestigious neighborhoods. It will span 11,000 square feet and include seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Then, Voxel Architects is creating a mirror image counterpart on The Sandbox.

Meta Residence founder Gabe Sierra shared the purpose of the virtual counterpart. Basically, it will “serve as an extension of the real-world home.” This means that it will allow the new homeowner to host in-home meetings, events and parties with guests from around the world.” So in a way, it’s like you’re purchasing two properties!

Mark your calendars because the ‘MetaReal’ Mansion is headed to the auction block this year for a yet-to-be-disclosed reserve price. Meanwhile, the exclusive sales agent for the property is Michael Martinez of ONE Sotheby’s. According to reports, he plans to execute the transaction on the Ethereum blockchain.

The Unique Concept: Real Estate Meets the Metaverse

According to Voxel Architects, their “expert team of architects and voxel modelers will ensure that every architectural component and design is represented faithfully to the utmost detail.”

The idea behind this project is that the Metaverse house can serve as an extension of the real-world home. So the owner can host meetings, events and parties with guests from around the world. So the goal is to “create a dual experience that blends the Metaverse and reality to the point that one can become a continuation of the other.”
