Splinterlands recently unveiled details on its highly-anticipated Land-based gameplay expansion, The Secret of Praetoria. The popular blockchain trading card game released the latest tantalizing update, Land Phase 1.5, through its new roadmap that features the various developments currently underway. As such, the land expansion is set to revolutionize the gaming landscape by introducing Land NFTs that players can claim, construct buildings on, gather resources from, and create new tradeable and rentable cards for use in battle.

The Secret of Praetoria will feature 150 regions owned by players, with each region containing 1,000 plots of Land. In total, the tracts amount to an impressive 150,000 parcels, split into ten different tracts within each region.Â
This massive expansion will be rolled out in multiple phases. The first phase, land surveying, is scheduled for Q1 2023. This phase will enable players to uncover details about land plots by redeeming PLOT, TRACT, or REGION tokens for unsurveyed land deed NFTs, subsequently converting these land deeds into surveyed NFTs. Details of the plots will include terrain type, rarity, and more.
Phase 1.5, potentially slated for Q2 or Q3, will introduce initial resource production alongside card and DEC staking. However, it is important to note that the specifics of this phase and future phases are subject to change as the development and playtesting progress. Phase 2, focusing on buildings and resources, is planned for a Q3 release.
