The Neopets might have been a staple of many of our childhoods but we can now enjoy them as adults in the metaverse. This comes as the Neopets franchise announced on August 23, 2022, the launch of the Alpha version of its new metaverse.
Details About the Neopets Metaverse Alpha
As per the release, the Neopets metaverse Alpha is an invite-only multi-week event that will begin on August 26, 2022. During this event, attendees will get a first look at the incoming Neopets metaverse. This will include 6 different events designed by the Neopets team that are only accessible in this metaverse.
Some of the experiences will include being able to play games like Turmac Roll, Meerca Chase, and Ultimate Bullseye. Users will also be able to interact with their Neopet, use them to fight other Neopets, and decorate a virtual home for them. Those who participate also stand the chance to win Masterpiece and Pizzaroo NFTs following the experiences.
To have access to this experience, users need to have met certain criteria. These include being a holder of the Neopets Metaverse Collection (NMC), the Pizzaroo’s Unique Pizzas, and the Masterpiece Collection. Even with this, users need to be exclusively invited by the Neopets team to participate.
These NFTs are available on various secondary marketplaces like Magic Even and Fractal. Besides the fun experience, this also represents an opportunity for long-standing fans of the franchise to enjoy nostalgia and a digital connection to a childhood classic.
