NFT powered fantasy sports platform, Sorare, has acquired the services of football superstar, Lionel Messi. The Argentinian goal machine is now taking up the roles of investor and brand ambassador.
The new partnership represents a huge coup for Sorare, who now have one of the biggest names in sport under their wing. Consequently, seeing the fearsome striker help spread the word of Sorare and its new form of interactive fantasy football, all while it looks to foster an exciting environment where clubs and players can engage with their loyal fanbase.
Through the deal, Lionel will receive an unspecified share in equity in exchange for his services, roles that will involve collaborating with the platform on a range of unique new content and experiences and add to his additional ambassadorial role with fellow crypto entrepreneurs, Socios.
Sorare has seen rapid expansion since its debut in 2019, now servicing over 2 million users in 185 different countries, while simultaneously striking up partnership deals with over 300 top football teams around the globe. This is all as it also tries to grab the attention of the Americans with the introduction of baseball and basketball to its expanding range of sports.
